Good Throne for the Price
This is a solid light/medium duty throne and great value for the price. Perfect for home practice and casual gigs. Light weight! Seat is firm and good thickness and tripod is double brased. Joint has a bit of a wobble to it that can be corrected by using a heavier nut/bolt. Not meant for heavy road use, IMO.

Cheap construction, no durability
This Griffin Drum Throne may be affordable, but that's only because it has been made so cheaply and ineptly. Adjusting the height on the stool was a nightmare. The nuts, bolts and screws seem to either fall right off the thing immediately, or are bolted on so permanently that you can do nothing to adjust them. I had to scrap it and buy another (this time well-made) throne a couple of months later. God stool
I'ts a quality stool for the price. I does what it's supposed to do. I played professionally for 2 0 year's as a Vegas show drummer. If it had a name brand it would sell for twice the price. A stool is all about balance. I have no problem balancing on this stool.

Needs Improvement
The seat cover needs better material, the seam doesn't hold and it tears easily. The shaft is about .01 of an inch too narrow, and it is loose at all connecting parts. The middle adjustment wobbles and I am going to replace the bolt and wing nut to a larger size and strength, even with that added I fear I might drill a hole to secure the wobble in the other direction. The wood on the seat is terrible, it just crumbles.
