FLEET LINE MARLIN BOAT - WITH BOX AND ACCESSORIES
I believe this is an original Marlin boat by Fleet Line,vintage mid-1950\'s..
This comes with the original box, the motor box (NO MOTOR),operating Instructions for \'Marlin\' boat, plus two bent wires that act as astand.
First the outer box: Outer box right hand side flap ismissing, tear on the front center tab slot, slight wear on the edges of thebox. Colors are bright and clear and the box is actually quite sturdy. Inside the box there is a cardboard cradle thatholds the boat and the motor box.
Motor Box: there is no end flap on the motor box. The restof the box is quite sturdy in good condition. There is a mailing label datedOct 3, 1956 from K&O Motors from Van Nuys, CA. Cost of mailing was 32centsto New York. No inserts in the motorbox.
There is a one page Fleet Line Operating Instructions for\'Marlin\' in the box. Printing on one side explains how to operate the boat, onthe opposite side are pictures of other Fleet Line boats. The Marlin is themost expensive boat by Fleet Line that year at $14.95. The instruction sheethas wear, is easily readable and in good condition for its age.
Marlin Boat: Measurements on the boat are: 16\" x7&3/8\". The boat overall is in very good condition, not pristine. Thewood decks are in very good condition as is the lower deck wood. Chrome lookslike it will polish up brightly, is intact and well fastened and the frame workfor the convertible top looks excellent condition. The canvas top is tight and looks very good. Paintwork on the hull has several small chips. Decals are bright and clear. Batteryconnections look to be in good shape as are the battery connections to themotor. There is a US flag on the stern that is thin and worn. The boat appearsto have all the original hardware.
Wire stand: I do not know if these came with the boatoriginally. While they look flimsy they actually hold the boat quite well fordisplay.
Overallthis is a very nice example of the early outboard motor boats from Fleet Line. With thecondition of the boat, box and accessories this would make an excellentaddition to any collection.
