12 Beautiful Land Snails Megalacron klaarwateri, Liggus fasciatus, and More
1 Megalacron klaarwateri New Guinea Mawe Str. 15 mm
1 Green tree snails from Papua New Guinea. This shell has a small hole in it. It shows in one of the photos.
1 "YELLOW" Green tree snails from Papua New Guinea (this a green one that has been dipped very briefly in bleach)
4 Candy Cane Haitian tree snails 35 - 45 mm
2 iguus fasciatus Florida Keys Tree Snail - these are right handed shells 40 - 50 mm
2 small whitish snails with brown bands
1 salmon pink shell 60 mm (It may not be a land snail - it has a thicker shell then most land snails - It is a pretty shell.
I have tried my best to correctly identify the shells I am selling, but it is possible that I have made mistakes. It is sometimes difficult because of a range of color and/or shape within a species and the similarity between different species that are closely related. As an example, an article in the April 1964 and September 1964 issues of Hawaiian Shell News describes how Voluta Damoni gradually changes along it 3000 mile coastal range from almost no color pattern to a very colorful pattern. Several species have sub species with a lot of variation. The sizes I list are approximate. The shells you will receive are the shells in the photos with this listing.
The site and several shell books helped me identify most of the shells. Other sites helped me identify some of these land snails.PLEASE look at all of the pictures on this listing so you can see what you are getting.
I am not a dealer. All of the shells, both in this listing and in my other listings, are from my personal collection. My shell collecting days stopped in 1979, soon after I got married.
