18th Century French Revolutionary Faience Pottery Motto Plate Patriotic Nevers: $139.99
Beautifully preserved Chronicles of the French Revolution plate. This plate was part originally done in France, probably Nevers in the 18th century, by Faiencerie De Clamecy. Done in Patriotic Fashioned earthenware with a polychrome decoration and hand painted, Faience or tin glazed pottery. Inscribed "nous jouons de matheur" "Le plus Fort l'empacte"- which translates roughly to "we play with doom" "Once unified the country becomes stronger". Originally from the Maison D'Antiques and has sticker on back.
