The 1939-40 Syncro Rocket was among the very earliest of the tether car racers. In spite of using a strap steel frame and having the body shaping left to the owners ability to carve the outline of a classic American sprint car, the car carries some sophisticated running gear and suspension features.
All four corners of the car are suspended on double quarter-elliptic leaf springing and the \"suicide\" front drive independent axles are contained by amodifiedde-Dion system.
Using \"Syncro Rocket\" to launch a quick search of the \"images\" section of Google will reveal a good many Syncro Rockets that have had a great deal of track running in their day.
The example offered is correctly powered by amatchingSyncro Ace spark ignition gas engine. The car is fully wired and ready to run. The wheels and tires are proper replacements with the wheels having been drilled to reduce unsprungweight. The car has been completely restored. The body is the old original carved balsa and does show some cracking, chips, etc. The grille surround is the original and is among the best I\'ve ever seen!
A good many Syncro Rockets ended up as more than a bit awkward in shape. This one really captures the era.
