Benedict of Nursia OSB (c. 2 March 480 -- c. 21 March 547AD) is a Christian saint venerated in the Catholic Church, the Eastern OrthodoxChurch, the Oriental Orthodox Churches, the Anglican Communion and Old CatholicChurches. He is the patron saint of Europe. His devotional medal has an imageof Saint Benedict, holding the Holy Rule in his left hand and a cross in hisright. The shield to his right has the miraculous cross of Saint Benedict. Incenturies past this medal was said to help cast away the devil and evilspirits. This is the reason why it is called the exorcism medal.
St. Romuald (Latin: Romualdus; c. 951 -- traditionally 19June, c. 1025/27 AD) was the founder of the Camaldolese order and a majorfigure in the eleventh century "Renaissance of eremiticalasceticism". Romuald spent about 30 years traversing Italy, founding, andreforming monasteries and hermitages.
