Vintagesixth plate tintype in leather case of Civil War Soldier. Antique tintype image of young soldier in uniform. Armed with musket. Note oval US belt plate, cartridge box, kepi, sling and gold highlights. Clearer image, with nice content. 1/6th plate size is in good used condition for age. Leather case showswear and tear,broken hinge edge. Some minor surface wear to image.
From fine local estate. The family supplied what info they had. Supposedly named Roberts under General Sherman and served as a POW guard in Mississippi. ??? Corporal Roberts, Union Army, Guarding Confederates, X Corps? Either way this is a great looking clean image of a CW soldier.
