The American Chain Company of Bridgeport, Conn., used an American Trade-Mark of a man holding chain in a triangle with ACCO as part of the logo. That logo is on the bottom of this bag but it is faded. In 1916, The Weed Chain Tyre Grip Company was merged into the American Chain Company. The Weed Company was the first manufacturer of tire chains. As early as 1917, the American Chain Co. advertised itself nationally as the largest manufacturer of chain in the world.
