For sale:1895 Adams & Westlake #11 Double Guard WireRailroad Lantern for the
Chicago & Northwestern Railroad
C & NW RR #11 Double Guard Wire Lantern with Amber TALL Globe!
-Wonderful aged-tin espresso-colored patina with just some minor dings from years of hard work on the rails...all parts fully functional!
-Very old version twist-off, drop-down in fuel pot but no wick in the original lard oil ratchet burner...thumb wheel turns nicely!
-Globe retainer looks great and works fine to secure the amber-colored TALL globe!
-Rich amber-colored unmarked TALL globe in great condition...no cracks but has a chip that will be concealed once the lid is shut (see photos.)
-Cage is in good functional condition with some rustiness, but no cracks or broken joints!
-Very old version of the twist-off and drop-down fuel pot that has some rust, but works fine and has no pitting, dents, nor holes!
-#11 with double horizontal wire guard cage with wire bottom!
-Too old to possess the locking bail feature so it has just the plain bail hooks.
This AW Frame Model #11 with double guard wires is more rare than the \"Reliable\" version. This lantern style was made for the tall globes from mid-1890\'s to around 1909! This one has a nice, sharp C & N.W.R.R. logo stamped on the lid and you won\'t find too many of these around anymore...especially in this condition!
