Up for offers is an antique banjo with the name Celebrated Benary on the brass piece attached to the heel.  The instrument has a number of  issues and should be considered to be a restoration project, for parts, or simply for use as a decorative wall hanger.  Brief research seems to indicate that the banjo dates to around 1890 to 1900.  The decorative inserts in the neck appear to be mother of pearl.  Total length is approximately 34 inches and the head measures approximately 11 inches in diameter.  I believe that this is considered to be a 5 string instrument.

Some issues: (note that I am not a musician so there may be others)

1.).  Four of the brackets are missing.

2.) The head cover is torn.

3.) There is no tailpiece.

4.) Two tuning pegs are missing, one looks to be a replacement, while the fourth may or may not be original. 

5.) Some of the brackets don\'t seem to tighten down...I just tried by hand to tighten them without using a wrench.

6.) It is dusty and needs a really good cleaning.

7.) There is no bridge, strings, or case.
