Antique French Lawn Cotton Gold Silk Thread Hand Lace Linen Filet Cherubs c1870sBeautifully hand stitched - the prettiest antique cloth/tray cloth/petite drape - not entirely sure what this was used for maybe it was just a way of showing off needlework skills. A linen filet lace insert of an image of cavorting cherubs inserted into fine lawn cotton. Surrounded by gold silk thread swags with a delicate gold silk hand made lace edging. This must have taken hours to complete. Would look equally good perhaps framed.
In excellent antique condition no holes or marks. Freshly laundered, line dried, ironed and ready to use. Measurements:
