You will be receiving an antique Pre-World War I 1905-1915,Hess Tin Toy Car.
This Toy car was made by the German manufacturer Hess, in about 1910.
The Significance of this Hess tin toy touring car lies in the fact that it mimics the adult world, and looking at can tell us much about how the world has changed. The car is a great representation of an Edwardian vehicle made before the First World War when the motorist had a choice of the finest full-size handmade cars ever built, with bodywork produced to the customer\'s individual requirements. This type of full-size vehicle was used for town use and shows the influence of the horsedrawn carriage in its construstion. The passengers sit open air at a time when it was important to be seen in your vehicle while going out driving rather than being protected from the weather. The toy provides a fascinating insight into the technological and social history of early motoring.
The toy car is friction, the friction mechanism does work but skipps.All of pieces of this car seem to be intact with the exception with one passenger seems to be loose in the back seat. The overall size of thecar isalmost 9\" long, 5\" tall and and 3 1/4\" wide.
This car and the other early 1900\'s toys that we are listing are all new to the hobby. They were obtained from the original owners family. They were brought in directly from their attic and I cleaned them a little bit by brushing the dust off and blowing them with compressed air. I did not take any liquid cleaner or wax to make them tolook any better. They are pictured in their original condition as I bought them.
