Antique Gorham Sterling Sewing Dresser Box Pin Cushion for Bailey Banks & offerdle.
Description: Here's a lovely sterling dresser / sewing box by Gorham, with a maker's mark that dates it to the late 19th c. In addition to the Gorham mark, it's also stamped, B B & B Co, so it was likely sold by Bailey Banks & offerdle, a high-end jeweler in Philadelphia at the time. It features a pierced sterling basket base, lined with olive green velvet, and with a velvet pin cushion top for holding sewing pins or hat pins. This little beauty is useful for storing jewelry or trinkets, and would make a great display on a dresser or in sewing display or with other Gorham or sterling items.Condition: Excellent antique condition. The top shows is a bit faded to a true olive green, a bit less brown than the photos show. The sterling is in great shape, could just use a bit of polishing (See Photos).
