Original late-1880s, early-1890s cabinet card, photographer outdoors with his equipment, including a camera on tripod.
This is no doubt a self-portrait of Valentine Stirewalt. What is very unusual about this photograph... and it\'s something I don\'t think I\'ve ever seen before.. is that the camera appears to be a prop. The theory is that he only had one camera, which was used to take the photo... so Stirewalt had this realistic looking prop made. Interesting!
Cabinet card is 6.5\" x 4.25\" with blank back. Very good antique condition with light aging and foxing.Boxed & signed Priority Mail.
