The central podium that accepts the stakes has the same hole diameter as modern tools, but the stakes will sit about 11.5mm higher. The hole for accepting reamers and pushers is 4.0mm rather than 5.0mm for the modern set. The set screw element is the same, intended to ride on a step on the reamer. This device has one pusher and one flat stake. A little bit of machining will allow one to lower the central podium, and increase the hole size on the upper rod, and if necessary a pair of spacers will allow the clamps to sit higher, to successfully convert to the modern dimension accessory sets.

Information regarding the conversion of this tool:
The conversion would require a machinist to reduce the height of thepodium, which has the correct size center hole and two threaded holes going allthe way through. As the podium is round, one could easily mount it in a lathe,cut it roughly in half and then trim and true the face. This would be allrequired, aside from deburring the edges of the existing holes.The next job would be also simple, drilling the 4mm hole in the upper cylinderout to 5mm. The set screw would still have ample threads to hold in anyattachments.For a final bit of finesse, one could have paired washers of various thicknessavailable for fine tuning of height of the clamps, but if your podium height isperfect, you will not even need these.
