Bullet Mold Sprue Plate/Pin Lube
This item is a 2 ounce bottle of bullet moldlubricant. This lubricant can be used on bullet mold top, sprueplate, alignment pins and pivot screws. It may be used onany mold material -- iron, brass or aluminum.
We have tried many lubes over the years and all butthis one had significant drawbacks. A few of the previous lubesand ill effects are listed below:
Beeswax, candle waxetc.-- it works for a while but it will build up and eventually require athorough cleaning with harsh chemicals or the mold alignment pins willstick from the buildup.
Aluminum basedanti-seize compound-- this works better than beeswax but will build up over time and needa full cleaning. This is also messy to use as it seems to geteverywhere.
Graphite/moly basedanti-seize compound -- Again this works better than beeswax butwill build up over time and need a full cleaning. It is messy aswell.

Negligible build upwith multiple applications.
When used on the moldtop and sprue plate bottom it prevents lead smearing even when thesprue is cut prior to being fully hardened. This allows forfaster casting with no lead smear cleanup. This is especiallybeneficial in the case of aluminum molds as a lead smear can lead togalling and gouging of the mold top as the hard sprue plate is rotatedtime and time again over a lead smear.
Very tidy to use -- no mess as with the anti-seize compounds.
- Doesnot need to be applied nearly as often as alternatives. Once fora typical casting session or a couple of times for a long castingsession is adequate.
Usesparingly - A little goes a long way! This 2 oz jug should last avery long time.
