This listingis foran antique ladies vanity traveling case often called a ‘necessaire’ as it contained items for the lady to maintain her appearance while traveling. The box is leather with quilted satin on the interior as well. It has a gold monogram in the leather on the cover “H.S.N.”. The case has gilt brass hinges and hardware throughout. When the box is closed it measures 4 ¼ by 12 by 8 ¾ inches or 11.4 by 30.4 by 22.2 cm.

The interior of the case features triple mirror on the inside of the cover that is hinged with a latch. The bottom of the case has 4 compartments, which hold four crystal and brass pink guilloche enamel perfume bottles. In front of the perfume bottles is another row of four round crystal powder jars with brass and pink guilloche enamel. At the front bottom interior are two rectangular compartments with small tabs for opening. The front edge of the case is marked in gold “FINNIGANS. BOND ST. LONDON”.

The case is in overall very good condition for its age, there is wear and scuffs to the edges and top of the case, the handle particularly. The enamel work on the bottles is in overall excellent condition, with only some small dings. Please see the many photographs as they are an important part of the description.
