An original historic Civil War General Order, issued at HQ, Southern Division of Louisiana, New Orleans, May 31, 1865 publishes the Presidential Proclamation by President Andrew Johnson ending the Blockade of the Southern Ports, thus removing restrictions on commerce between the states of Tennessee, Virginia, North & South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi & Louisiana East of the River, allowing all products except arms, ammunition, gray uniforms, etc, and allows boats to carry on commercial enterprises without interference. The Order is issued at HQ New Orleans by command of Brigadier General Sherman. 1p 8 x 5" ptd, w 2 punch holes in left margin, overall VG.
