Ca. 1860\'s EARLY CIVIL WAR 1/9 PLATE RUBY AMBROTYPE UNION SOLDIER in UNION CASE Offered is a Civil War 1/9th plate Ruby Ambrotype of a Union Soldier. This is a seated view and has excellent contrast & depth. The image is in a Brown UNION case designated BERG 3-358 Geometric. Light wear on the image. Wear noted where the mat contacts the image. Functional clasps and hinges. Hinges have some play in them. The case does how a some discoloration on the surface in spots and there are a few minor chips, with a heavier one on one of the front corners. Please view all images for details. Really sharp combination of case and image with this one.
