FINE CHINESE EXPORT SOLID SILVER SERVING TRAY BY WING ON.c1920. For Sale

Stunning Chinese export solid silver tray,measures 19\" (48cm) x 11\" (28cm) x 1\" (2.5cm) high & weighs approx. 40 troy oz.The tray is clearly marked with a Chinese character mark & the makers mark for Wing On of Hong Kong,it has been acid tested as the normal 900 standard for Chinese silver (please see final photo).The tray rests on four large bun feet,the handles & edge of the tray are naturalistically styled as bamboo,the tray is engraved with an allegorical scene featuring various symbols of good luck.The central cartouche is engraved with an inscription which reads \"Presented to Mr G A T Cousins by the European staff H.M.dockyard Hong Kong 1925\",the engraving is not deep & should be fairly easy to erase if required.The condition is very good with some light surface scratches from use,I have given the tray a wipe over with a silver cloth but have not attempted to polish it,this is a fine quality tray by a very good maker.
