Initiation is practiced within associations of men more or less present according to the villages: the n\'tomo, which governs community life, the komo, which governs moral offenses, and the twi wara, which brings together young people and farmers. The complex symbolic system of the Bambara results in an abundant production linked to ritual functions and of variable aesthetic quality.
