A carefully hand-carved musical instrument from the Kware people of East Africa. The Kwere also known as Ngh'wele (Wakwere in Swahili) is a matrilineal ethnic and linguistic group native to Bagamoyo District and Chalinze District in the Pwani Region of coastal Tanzania. The primary language spoken is Ngh'wele, called Kikwere in Swahili. The Musical instrument is used during merry-making as Kwere people like to rejoice and give thanks during planting and harvesting season.
