Here for your examination is a gorgeous hand-made violin.
It was likely made in the early 20th century (circa 1900-1930)
according tomy local luthier. Itisabeautifulhandmade violin, with
its beautifullycarvedandebonizedscrolls...a hallmarkof the
better Parisian,Mirecourtmakers.It has its original varnish...
beautiful...with a patina thatonlyfather-time can create. It is
afineold instrument simply bearing the label \"A PARIS\".

This is a video clip of the actual violin being sold in this sale
and was shot on my inexpensive Casio digital camera in
video mode. There is absolutely no enhancement of the
sound whatsoever...no expensive, special microphones,
no computer alteration, no studio effects.Theplayer

Beautifully ebonized, almost sensuously carved
scrolls...seen onbetter French violins of the period.This violin is in excellent vintage condition. Look at the closeup
photos...it isin a very fine state of preservation and is a
special violinin my opinion with a rich, powerful sound.
This is a beautiful violin with an almost operatic voice...
singing and lyrical in the treble end; deep and robust
in the lower end. A beautiful old violin with a mature sound.
The best thing about this violin is the sound. Warm,
resonant and powerful; it has that wonderful,round
and mature sound that is what makesantique
French violins so sought after today.

I believe this violin belongs in the hands of professional
or advanced violinist or a serious collector who wants
toadd a fine, old instrument to their collection.MEASUREMENTS:
FULL SIZE ~ 4/4 VIOLINOverall length is 23-1/8\" long.
Body measures 14-1/8\" long.
Lower bout is 8-1/2\" wide;
upper bout is 6-1/2\" wide.Antique violins of this quality are becoming difficult to find. These
estate instruments are sold here on without reserve.

This violin is the kind of instrument that we,
as violinists, search for but rarely find.
CONDITION REPORT:There are no sound post cracks. Thereare no splits
orcracks to theneck or or thepegbox,and no
open seams. There are the usual signsofwear
from years of play...the normaldings, edge
wear, and wear to the varnish...the type ofwear
patterns that I personally loveto see in an old
instrument. Not only adds adds characterwithits
beautiful century old patina, but validates its age.Like any old violin it might benefit from a freshset
of strings; and asetup.It is areallygorgeous
violinwith a beautiful sound. Ships in newer case(it does not come with a bow).I have included many photos; they are part of the description.
