Description:
A WONDERFUL LATE 18TH CENTURY WROUGHT IRON HANDLED STATIONARY BROILER OR \"GRIDIRON\" , American, probably New England, Circa 1760-1820 with a FLATTENED SHAFT ENDING IN A SHAPED HANDLE WITH A PIG TAIL DESIGN. IT HAS SHAPED ENDS WITH FULLY INTACT FEET. IT ALSO HAS A NICE OLD SURFACE AND PATINA.
Nice early design and early forged construction and nice tapering top. A very nice example of a stationary broiler or gridiron. The condition is very nice with no repairs or restorations. The surface is old and the patina is nice.
