RARE! 1930'S NORTHWESTERN 31 PENNY-NICKEL PORCELAIN MERCHANDISER GUMBALL MACHINE- AS IS! -16012-SDBeing sold "AS IS". The price reflects the condition. This is a RARE! Northwestern 31 Penny-Nickel Porcelain Merchandiser Gumball machine. Made by the Northwestern Corporation, Morris, IL, c. 1931, it measures 15 1/2" high. It has a square base and round porcelain handle on the front. The knob is on the left and the gate is centred and has a penny-nickel mechanism, although a nickel does seem to be jambed in the machine....so although the glass says "Penny Nickel" it may only be a penny machine with a slug detector.Originally mint colour, but has an older red overpaint. Barrel lock is missing.The glass globe may have a stress fracture that swirls around the globe from the top to the bottom however the globe remains in one piece.
