RARE 12" Diameter Antique 18th Century Colonial New England Pewter Trencher/Charger (Platter), Hallmarked
DESCRIPTION:Scans show it all.....nice very early antique colonial pewter trencher/charger. Very deep area for food. Measures 12" diameter. Can probably be used as a functional item, but it is primarily intended to be a very nice antique or colonial period decorative item......as part of a collection or on a mantle, in a dining room or kitchen or living room, or on the wall, etc. Definitely an18th century piece, probably c.1760-70, and certainly REVOLUTIONARY WAR PERIOD. MORE THAN 250 YEARS OLD!!
Hallmarking is present, although very faint.
In very good condition overall with REALLY NICE AGED PATINA. Shows its age and use nicely, and has a nice antique appearance. Was originally part of an early local New England pewter collection.
A nice addition to your colonial pewter collection or for display. Possibly could still be used. Just in time for your Thanksgiving Dinner!!
