Rare 1920’s 8-Pc MAISON DORIN Cosmetics Asian Lacquer Vanity Set & Tray Paris For Sale

Stunning and rare antique Maison Dorin Paris lacquer vanity set with wood tray. Retailed by Maurice Levy in New York City, the Vanity Set is complete with a wood tray with brass handles and gilt decorated scrolls, a removable painted cosmetics divider and six lacquer painted cosmetics boxes with gilt painted chinoiseriedecorations all with original paint. The vanity boxes include two 1 oz round compacts (19 Shade: Rachel and 199 Shade: Natural with makeup remaining,) a small rouge compact with puff (contains makeup,) a larger rectangular box containing 2 ‘Pompons’ in original packaging, and two smaller rectangular divided boxes that are empty. Tray measures 12” long x 8 ½” wide x 2” high without the contents, largest box measures 4 ¾” x 3 1/8” x 2 ½” and largest compact measures 3 ¼” dia. Set is very good condition, there is wear to the lacquered painted boxes from handling and minor wear to the tray. A fine addition to any home or collection!
