I don't know much about pottery but i certainly know the Craven name. This one is marked E.S Craven. Enoch Craven made pottery in Randolph County NC from 1810 to 1893. I think it is a 2 gallon jug. It stands about 11" tall and measures about 23" around. I found this in a barn sitting in a corner covered with dust. other than wiping the heavy layer of dust off i left this how i found it. Corn cob and all. Inside i heard something moving i looked and there is a big disk of something in there. I think whatever was in it solidified. Condition wise it looks great . It does have a couple what look like glaze cracks running through it. The do not appear to be cracked through. There is a deeper crack toward the bottom that looks like maybe it happed during firing. Again this one is a little deeper crack but i don't believe its all the way through. The handle and spout are perfect look great. There is some spots of either clay build up or dirt permanently in there. Well thats all the bad but the good is it looks great with a great looking patina on it. I have no idea what this is worth Ive seen others of his work go into the thousand. The only other one i could compare it to was one in the Mint pottery museum in NC but of course they didn't put a value. Ill start it low and let you guys price it.

If you ever bought shipping supplies and mailed out things you will see we lose money on shipping constantly. On our Carnival glass, these always have straw marks and slight imperfections. I have yet to see a truly perfect one. We will try to point out all of these to the best of our abilities. We buy alot of our items at sales. Keep that in mind when buying. I do not know if they were smokers or was sitting in attic for years. There might be a smell to it. I will try to say when I smell an odor, but my sniffer dosent work great all the time and may miss some. If you receive an item and it arrives damaged, you must notify us immediatly so we can get the claim process started. It can take up to 30 days to receive monies. You must keep the item and all original packaging until monies are refunded. Sometimes the insurance carrier wants the item and other times they don\'t. We refund you as soon as they are paid by the carrier. We have only had to do this twice in a long time but they both went smoothly.
