Rare Soldier\'s Relief County Ledger Post Civil War (1909-1923) For Sale

For your consideration is a rare county ledger of payments from theSoldier\'s Relief Fund from Nov. 14 1909 to Dec. 1923. This ledgeris from Grant County, Wisconsin. It outlines the date, name, no. oforder, and the amount issued. There are listings from page 1 topage 93. The ledger itself has a total of 504 pp. Note that paymentswere made to veterans from the Civil War up until May 31, 2020 uponthe death of Irene Triplett, a daughter of a fighting Civil War hero.
The payments were mostly $8 or $10 with a few variances. There isalso a tally slip I found inside on page 38. The book itself is gorgeous.It is heavy leather bound with gold gilt decoration and colorful innerpages done in an art nouveau design. The edges are also coloredgiving a marbled effect. The pages have a few foxing spots, but mostare close to perfect as if written yesterday.
This is a large book measuring 15 3/4\" tall and 12\" across. Conditionis very good. There are a few cracks along the cover by spine on thefront cover given to continued opening. The back is perfect. Thereare photos of both front and back covers and also the bookbinder.A wonderful collectible for collectors of this period in history.
