Very Rare, Early Antique OUTDOOR Carte de Visite Photo of Large Handsome Classic Building, the LANLIEU HOUSE HOTEL, Palatka, Florida

DESCRIPTION: Particularly nice, original rare early antique outdoor Carte de Visite from my collection of early antique outside building photos. Early outside shots are always nice generally, and this one is particularly nice.

Identified in period handwritten pencil as LANLIEU HOUSE, Palatka, Florida. Image style, content, and photographer information make this CdeV appear to be c.1860.

Carte de Visite photos were popular during the Civil War, both by military men and civilians. Carte de Visites were the most popular format during the war years, and including military and political leaders and other subjects in your CdV album was very popular. This was the best way to collect and display and honor them, not having the various other methods we have today.

THIS WAS CLEARLY A NICE SHOT OF AN IMPORTANT PALATKA BUILDING, and outside CdeVs are always especially desirable!!
