A set of six scarce antique German Art Nouveau pewter seafood bowlsby Orivit. The rim of each plate is surroundedwith relief molded fish swimming in a natural habit among shells and marine fauna. Impressive set for dining or display.

Very good original preowned condition with aged patina. One bowl shows wear to the center and the finish on two of the six bowls is not as high as the others, but it\'s possible that they may be polished to a higher gloss.
The Orivit company was founded in 1894 and \"Orivit\" wasinitiallya trade name for the company\'s proprietary metal which when polished would look like silver.This was achieved by removing lead and adding a small amount of silver.Their leading designs won them recognition at the Paris (1900) and St Louis (1904) World Exhibitions.
