MILLERITE on QUARTZ:Halls Gap, Lincoln County, Kentucky, USA. Dimensions: 2.5 x 2.4 x 2.3 cm, thumbnail. Millerite in display quality like this is a highly sought after mineral, and this very fine piece features numerous brassy metallic threads of Millerite protected inside an ideal, bright white, drusy Quartz lined geode. Many of the Millerite threads emanate from one spray and artistically arc across the interior of the geode, while other hair-like threads randomly arc in the back of the geode. There is even a tiny (1.5mm), but relatively thick, Millerite "donut" set in the drusy Quartz as shown in the last photo. This is an aesthetic and rare Millerite thumbnail from Halls Gap.
