This is an outstanding pair of 18 point rowel, double mounted spurs made in the Texas tradition. They featureengraved silver overlay along the heel bands and shanks, which aredominated witha cowboy on a bucking horse. Thelarge leather spur strapsare stamped Triple D Leather, Dumas, Texas. Each strapdisplays a large concho that, in its center, replicates the cowboy on bucking horse motif from the spurbands. The straps close with a nicelydecorated buckle set, also by Alward. Terry Alward was elected first president of the Texas Style Bit and Spur Makers Assoc. and he isfeatured onpages 60 to 61 of Bits and Spurs, Motifs, Techniques and Modern Makersby Ned and Jody Martin.
