Up for sale with is a very fine 18th Century Georgian Period English Sterling Silver Serving Basket. The Basket is one of the finest examples I have sold in a long time with great early Georgian Form and a nice reeded handle with repeating reed patterns around the topoutside rimand base. The Basket also features a nice original owner monogram that is so fancy it could be almost anything you wish. The Basket shows great signs of being completely Hand Made and is of very fine quality. The Basket is fully and clearly Hallmarked for the very fine Period Silversmiths Henry Chawner and John Eames, London England, Sterling Silver and the Date Letter \"A\" for 1796. The Basket is a large impressive example and displays very nicely measuring approx 7-1/2\" tall to the top of the bail handle by 6-1/4\" long and 3-7/8\" wide or 4-3/4\" tall at the edge of the bowl. This would be perfect for multitude of different uses and is in excellent condition throughout with no dents, cracks or repairs. The Basket also is nice thick Sterling Silver throughout with a quality weight of211 grams. Georgian Baskets like this are rare to find, especially up for sale with ! I am sure this will also prove a fine investment for the future !
