VTG Avon Faience Pottery Co Large Mug Tankard \"Blank\" Stein Tavern Barware USA
A very unique made in the USA antique beer mug fromAvon Faience Wheeling Pottery Co. Due to the marking, this piece was made between 1903 - 1908 so right before Prohibition. Its unique in that it was prepped to have a commissioned image but remains a blank. The color is a warm brown.
Avon Works was founded in Tiltonsville, Ohio, in about 1880. It became Avon Faience Co. in 1902 and a department of Wheeling Potteries Co. of Wheeling, WV, in January 1903.
This mug has nice heft (perfect for your favorite ale) with very light wear, please see pictures for measurements and condition. This mug has been washed, it\'s possible with a stronger cleaner the inside could be improved.
