Offered here is a solid red painted tin that once held 100 No. 6 strength Blasting Caps manufactured by the G. R. McAbee Powder & Oil Company, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Measures 2.50 x 1.75 x 2.1/8. Listed as very rare in the out-of-print Blasting Cap Tin Catalog by Andy Martin. George R. McAbee Powder & Oil Company was the reorganized name of the Crescent Powder Company, that was lost to a massive explosion in 1902. This solid red painted tin was manufactured between 1905 and 1922.
