Vintage 1962 Fender Champ guitar amp with the 5F1 circuitry. The date code on the tube chart is LJ, which indicates it was manufactured in October of 1962. The speaker code (465-224), power transformer code (606236) and the output transformer code (606235) indicate it was manufactured in 1962. The serial number, C10310, also indicates 1962 according to the most up to date sources online. However, there are some sources out there that indicate that the 1962 models ended at 19,000. I\'ll leave it up to you to decide.
This amp is in excellent cosmetic condition. As you can see from the pictures, it has very little wear or staining to the tweed fabric. When I acquired it, the fuse cap and power/volume knob were missing. I have replaced these with what I believe to be period correct parts. Obviously, the power cord has been replaced. Other than the tubes, I\'m confident everything else is original.
The 5Y3GT tube is RCA, the 6V6GT tube is Sylvania and the 12AX7 tube is Amperex. I have no idea whether these are original or not.
From the picture of the board, you can see that one of the capacitors is oozing a little. I decided to leave the electronics as-is, so that the buyer could address this capacitor and potentially all of the capacitors as they would like.
I\'m not a musician, but I had my guitar player neighbor check this amp out for me. He played through it for a while and indicated to me that in his opinion it was working great. It sounded great to me also.
