WE BUY USED GEAR!!Up for sale is this vintage Rickenbacker 4001 bass, in Jet Glo. This bass has seen a life and would best be described as player grade, although it still plays and sounds great and has plenty of mojo! If you aren\'t the biggest fan of the thick gloss finish on some Ric\'s, the neck on this one is sure to please!This Ric, s/n: NK6582, was made in November of 1974. It is finished in Jet Glo and features the original pickups with bridge pickup cover, original bridge, and original pickguard. The body and neck are of course maple, with a walnut stripe on the maple neck (through body). The bass has a rosewood fingerboard with triangle inlays, and offset headstock.This bass has had the finish stripped off the neck, and it also seems to have been repaired at one point. A hairline crack still remains. The tuners were also replaced, and some holes were filled. The truss rod cover has cracked edges so it cannot currently be mounted. One of the truss rods is stripped but the neck is still straight. The maple body has a crack on the back that extends around the body to the bridge pickup and has an area of stripped finish on the upper horn. There is also an area to the left of bridge pickup that appears to have been touched up at one point. The electronics have been modified and seem to need to be re-grounded.Despite its short comings, this is a great feeling bass! The neck is straight and the main working truss rod should be enough to keep it straight. The frets are low but no dead spots or buzzing issues. The stripped neck feels nice and smooth. Pickups still put out full power and still produce classic Ric tones!Includes a gig bag, hardshell case may be purchased separately
