This adorable bat eared Fenwick Fox figurine is by Basil Matthews. Basil Matthews figurine designs took on an almost whimsical feel making it popular among collectors in many of the specialist art shops around the British Isles and eventually the United States. He will always be remembered for his unique hand modeled animal kingdom figurines. All pieces are hand painted and many were adorned with flowers. One of his memorable accomplishments was to supply a figurine to Princess Alice (Mother of Prince Philip). Basil also became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts as well as other acclaimed societies. This fox figurine is hard to find and would make a wonderful collectors pieces.
