Atomic Orange Fiestaware dinner / luncheon plate 9.5" aka Radioactive Red Fiesta, aka original red. Good shape, considering it's age.
HLC only made the red/orange Fiestaware 9.5" plates from 1936-1942 and again after WWII from 1959-1969. Today's red is a totally different glaze mix.
The antique red, atomic, radioactive, or original red, whatever you know it as, IS slightly radioactive, but as long as you don't put it in the microwave or eat it, it's fine.
This plate has the “wet foot” glazed bottom and three pinholes, or sand spots from the glazing process. It doesn't have the Fiesta stamp, but that's not uncommon from the original run.
Slight wear on the middle of the plate, consistent with age and usage. No chips or cracks.
