antique Naval engraved blade anchor harp dirk dagger boot knife relic Civil War For Sale

This nice dagger is 8 5/8 inches long overall with a thick 4 1/2 inch double edged carbon steel guard. It has a carved black wood handle and a steel guard. The blade is engraved on each side and has remnants of gold plating in spots. There is an anchor on one side of the tang and a harp on the other. This knife is used and has wear. The blade has sharpening marks and the tip appears to me to have been reshaped. The handle has a long crack on one side, but still feels tight and solid. It looks old enough to me to be Civil War era, but its exact age is unknown. There is no sheath. Shipping is $5.65
