Postcard is in very good condition, has been trimmed to fit in a photo album, measures 5 x 3 approximately.In 1909 Tony and family visited Valdez, expecting to stay only a few days, but they decided tolive there for the next six years. In Valdez Wendler owned and operated a brewery until April1915, when he moved to the tent city in Anchorage.
On July 5, 1915 the Wendler family arrived on the steamer Mariposa at the shores of ShipCreek. Ray T Larson and Wendler together, built a wood frame andcanvas building inthe tent city and started a partnership by operating a grocery andmercantile business there.
