Spectacular antique circa 1870s antique tintype of a baby girl with her large china head doll. Tintype is American. Girl has spunk. Her personality shines through. Great dress with vivid pattern. Doll has a china head and leather arms. Dress is amazing, with very eccentric stripes throughout.This tintype was used in my column, Girls and Dolls of Yesteryear, around 1980 or 1981. The column ran in Doll World Magazine and was the first one that I know of to take antique photography of children and dolls so seriously.This great tintype has been in my collection for more than 33 years. Measures 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches. Condition is good, two small black spots of wear, one above head and one on floor.
