Antique Civil War 1800’s Bear Paw Quilt For Sale

This antique quilt from the Civil War era features a unique bear paw pattern and a long narrow shape, measuring 66"x92". We believe because of the long length of this quilt it was made to use to drape over a casket.

It is hand-quilted. Colors are slate blue and turkey red. This quilt possibly dates back to the 1870s and the Civil War era. It may have covered soldiers on their hospital beds or caskets. Purchased at an sale with no available history. Made of gingham and calico shirtings, the quilt has some patches and requires mending. Despite some holes and deterioration, A great collectors Quilt. Also the binding is gone. But no stains.
