ABOUT AMBER BAKELITE:
AMBER BAKELITE(Other Name: Bakalite, Catalin, Sikma Kehribar, Phenolic resin). This material first time produced in Belgium at the end of 1890s. It was then produced in Germany and it was produced with the name Catalin in USA at 1920's. Real formula of this material is lost After World War II. Amber Bakelite is continues to be produced with a formula close to the old formula in small quantities in small workshops in Turkey, middle eastern countries and some European countries todays. For this reason this material is rare and valuable. It is known as Faturan in Middle Eastern and Asian countries.
IIt can be used to make many items such as knife handles, pens, pen holders, prayer beads, beads, jewelry materials, guitar picks, cigarette holders, table game pieces - boardgame pieces (Chess, backgammon, rulet, monopoly and etc.), door knockers, gear knobs, umbrella handles, and walking stick handles. It is mostly used in making rosaries in Türkiye and Middle Eastern countries. It is easily processed and polished, and has a shiny appearance. They are really rare products.
