A superbly engraved certificate by American Bank Note.Colonel Enoch Ensley acquired 4,000 acres to form the Ensley Land Company, which was incorporated in December 1886 to handle the sale of prime real estate. Initially, the stock in the Ensley Land Company sold well, but the companycollapsed during the panic of 1893. (The Panic of 1893 was an economic depression in the United States that began in 1893 and ended in 1897. It deeply affected every sector of the economy, and produced political upheaval that led to the political realignment of 1896 and the presidency of William McKinley.) Condition good, does show signs of being in storage.
