M.L. OwensSeagrove Pottery North Carolina Rebecca Pitcher in Turquoise/Green RARE! I\'M DOWNSIZING!
Some of the pics are with flash, some are without.
I have a pottery artist friend who owns a well-known N.C. pottery gallery in Denton NC. I sent her a pic of this and she told me it\'s highly sought after and collectible, partly because of it\'s color.
I\'m pricing it high for now because I don\'t know the value since I can\'t find one to compare it to in this color.
When I see what interest it draws I might change the price, but it won\'t be right away. I\'d welcome any reliable input on it.Late 20th Century. Stamped M.L.Owen Seagrove N.C.
I think they call this a 10 inch pitcher but it\'s just shy of 10 inches.
Closer to 9.5 inches [see pictures]
Since this pottery is handcrafted, thereare always some differences in exact dimensions, colorations and glaze. And some minor imperfections that areunique to each piece. I can feel a few tiny burrs on the edge of the spout. And there is a defect/bump on the outside on one side. That bump is fully covered in glaze.I have attempted to provide closeups of any defect I see, but it\'s very hard to get a good closeup on some of them.
For other conditions, see pictures.
It\'s been carefully taken care of and babied on my china cabinet shelf for years.
I don\'t see any scratches or defects other than what were created during the pottery process, no damage that occurred afterward.
