Outstanding Rare Wendwilsonite Crystals w/ Dolomite - Bou Azzer, Morocco For Sale

WENDWILSONITE w/ DOLOMITE: Aghbar Mine, Bou Azzer mining dist., Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco. Dimensions: 4.1 x 3.5 x 3.3cm, miniature. This matrix specimen of light pink dolomite has one larger vug and a second smaller one that host gemmy, rich magenta colored Wendwilsonite crystals from 2 to 3mm. The larger vug measures 2.5cm in longest dimension and contains at least two dozen moderately intergrown, but well-formed crystals. The smaller vug measures 1.5cm across and is host to several distinct and isolated Wendwilsonite crystals perched on numerous, pink Dolomite crystals that line most of the cavity. Bou Azzer, Morocco is the co-type locality for this mineral. The mineral was described and named in 1987 in honor of Dr. Wendell E. Wilson, publisher and editor-in-chief of the Mineralogical Record.
