Up for sale here is this recap kit for the Rock-Ola 40218, 40218-1, 40218-2, or 40276 amplifier. These amps are found in the Rock-Ola 424, 425, 426, and 433 jukeboxes. At this point the amp is around 60 years old, and the old capacitors are weak and failing. We will make them new again!
This kit includes replacement electrolytic capacitors to replace all of the old electrolytic and can capacitors. It also includes instructions to explain how to install everything. The instructions will also go over some basics for working on tube gear. This does not include any tubes or other capacitors or resistors. New caps are Supertech axial electrolytics and Epcos snap-in radial capacitors--you will get the exact parts shown in the picture. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts, the same parts I use when I work on vintage gear.
The parts included are mostly exact uf replacements, but some of these are close replacements; for example, the 2940 uf can caps are upgraded to 3300 uf, the 1200 uf 6v caps are replaced with 1500 uf 50v, the 300 uf cap is replaced with a 330 uf, and the 16 uf caps are replaced with 20 uf. These mostly go higher in voltage compared to the originals--the new caps are 50v, 63v, and 100v. There are radial caps to replace the can caps, and they should mount under the chassis nicely with the provided terminal strip, or you can remove the old can caps and just epoxy these to the top in their place.
I will include surprisingly well-written instructions (with a link to download a schematic), but this is somewhat complicated, and you should know what you\'re doing and have a decent soldering iron. This kit will not fix everything that could be wrong with your equipment, but it will certainly help. Please see my pictures for details.
