Corona No.3 folding portable typewriter serial numbered 279,264 which dates it to 1919.
Scarce version with L-shaped folding rails produced for just ONE YEAR!
Cosmetically, it's excellent. The decals are strong. Paint has a few tiny blemishes but it is still quite glossy. No significant rust. Nickel plating is lovely. Original ribbon spools and thumb nuts, which are often missing, are still present. Only the escapement cover is missing. Other than dust, this Corona truly is display ready.
Functionally, the carriage advances and returns well and the paper feeds well. However, it will need new feet for regular use otherwise the sublevers bottom out. The shift hangs a little so that would also need tuning. A new ribbon would also benefit the machine. Overall, this machine could work brilliantly with minimal effort.
An original case is included but the front flap has been permanently affixed.
